How to Play Blackjack

Blackjack is one of the most popular casino card games in the world. The goal is simple: get a hand value as close to 21 as possible without going over, and beat the dealer's hand.

Card Values

Number cards (2-10) are worth their face value. Face cards (Jack, Queen, King) are worth 10. Aces can be worth 1 or 11 — whichever is more favorable for your hand.

Gameplay

Place your bet using the chip buttons, then click Deal. You and the dealer each receive two cards. One of the dealer's cards is face down (the "hole card"). You can then choose to:

Hit — Take another card. You can hit as many times as you like, but if your total exceeds 21, you bust and lose.
Stand — Keep your current hand. The dealer then reveals their hole card and draws according to house rules.
Double Down — Double your bet and receive exactly one more card, then automatically stand.
Split — If your first two cards are a pair, you can split them into two separate hands, each with its own bet.
Insurance — When the dealer shows an Ace, you can place a side bet (half your original bet) that the dealer has Blackjack.

Dealer Rules

The dealer must hit on 16 or less and stand on 17 or more (including soft 17 in this version). If the dealer busts, all remaining player hands win.

Payouts

A regular win pays 1:1 (even money). A natural Blackjack (Ace + 10-value card on the first two cards) pays 3:2. Insurance pays 2:1 if the dealer has Blackjack. A push (tie) returns your bet.
